adoption update October 6, 2008

   BAD NEWS. I had to return shorty. This morning Molly woke up with her eyes swollen shut. we spent all morning in the doctors office and the doctor believes it is shorty. she has not been around anything knew but him.

  our family is very upset that it didn’t work out, but we can’t have molly on alegra all the time if she doesn’t have to be.

   please pray for her because she is really swollen in her face and she doesn’t even look like herself and she is already shy and now people are looking at her and she does not like that at all.  the doctor  said it could take a while for the swelling to go down and if she isn’t better by thursday to bring her back. so it is not instant.

   i am not sure what we will do now. i will keep you all updated.

adoption update October 4, 2008

    just an update to let you all know how our adoption is going. i found a funny looking dog on the local humane society’s website and decided to take a chance. Shorty is his name and he is a “cardigan corgi mix”. he looks like a big dog who’s legs have been cut in half. he is white with a black nose and a brown spot on his right ear.

    the girls and i picked him up from his foster mom Thursday and we have really enjoyed him. . at first he was kind-of scary because he is so big but he is really cool. he can jump and he can run really fast and he can cut a corner on a dime. we might try and see if he can catch a frisbee. his bread’s job is to herd sheep which is another funny quality. he likes to herd the children.

    we really like him but he is very food oriented. when we are sitting at the table eating. he doesn’t bark(which is good), but he sits there and drools. hahahahaha, it is funny. it would only be fitting that the Batts family would have the wierdest dog in the world. his head is really big for his body but he is cute. here are some pictures. i will let everyone know if he becomes Shorty Batts.

I want a puppy September 29, 2008

    I have decided that I want a puppy.

  Growing up, I always had animals in our house and I miss having one.

  I am really a cat person but I like dogs too.

Michael doesn’t like cats. He only liked one cat and he(Tommy the tomcat) thought he was a dog. We don’t like the litter box and cats like to scratch up the furniture.

 

 

  

 

but a dog is trainable and loyal and lovable.

      I would take a free dog or a dog from the pound but when I look at the pound all I see is pit bulls and chows and starved hunting dogs. No family friendly dogs.

 

     I will be doing some research but right now it looks like a golden retriever, a schnoodle, or an Australian shepherd.
